Gate of Substance는 문명을 하나의 거대한 구조물로 상상합니다 — 밀치고, 기어오르고, 서로에게 무너져 내리는 인간 군상이 축적되어 만들어진 문. 그 아래에는 한 개인이 홀로 서서, 앞서 쌓아 올려진 모든 것의 무게에 압도됩니다. 우리가 스스로를 재료 삼아 세운 기념비가 결국 유한하고 불안정하며 영원히 미완인 '물질'에 지나지 않을 때, 무엇이 진정 실체(substance)로 남는가를 이 작업은 묻습니다.

Gate of Substance imagines civilization as a single immense structure — a gate assembled from the accumulated mass of human figures. Beneath it stands a lone individual, dwarfed by the weight of everything built before, asking what remains 'substantial' when the monuments we raise from ourselves are, in the end, only matter.
