Modern individuals aspire to be part of what was once called the bourgeoisie, the capitalist or middle-class stratum, as they are entwined with the inundation of material possessions. However, the pyramid of social classes is becoming even more entrenched, with values beyond material wealth diminishing.

오늘날 사회 계급의 개념은 터부시되고 있긴하지만, 분명하게, 오히려 과거보다 더 적나라하게 관철되고 있다.
현대인들은 범람하는 물질들을 휘감아 과거 유산계급(Bourgeoisie)이라 불리웠던 자본가 혹은 중산층 계급에 걸터있기를 소망한다. 하지만 계급의 피라미드는 더욱 견고하게 쌓아져 가고 있으며, 물질적 가치 외에는 도태되고 있을 뿐이다.
